Not really, the bar is completely over priced. Hala Kahiki is nice, however not dressed as Lara..They have a very strict dress code..

I’m really tempted to buy the new Lara Croft game. I’ve been reading reviews on the game and so far it’s been generally positive. There are some flaws here and there but nothing is ever perfect.

P.S. general consensus = pretty good reboot.

My favorite of the series yet. The graphics are beautiful on PC as well!

The Lara Croft costume turned out well for al little money as I spent on it. The weather was nice too, so I didn’t get too cold. Overall a great day with my David Tennant ;)

Faith Cosplay from Mirror's Edge - Chicago Comic Con

Found this unpublished post laying around my Drafts folder..

I’m lucky enough to get press passes to Wizard World’s Chicago Comic Con from August 11-14th so I thought I would cosplay as well since I usually only get to do it once a year at ACEN. After a little deliberating I decided on Faith from Mirror’s Edge, if you haven’t played it, it’s like a parkour-based type of game, super cool and super frustrating!

I picked Faith because it was a relatively easy costume to put together last minute, I like parkour and I liked her makeup that she wore! (If that last sentence rhymes I’m going to kms). In a little bit I’ll throw up a quick video of how to do the makeup, it’s relatively simple but it stressed me out at first just because I wasn’t sure what types of liners to use to make it look the best, hopefully this will help other Faith cosplayers!

Here’s my list of what I needed for the costume:

—Khaki/Creme White cargo pants that can be rolled up a little at the bottom (so a flare bottom would not work as well as boot/straight cut).

—Red Gym Shoes - I’m actually having a difficult time finding some decent ones, many cosplayers have just nixed the all red and found alternatives of just white gym shoes with red accents etc. I myself might be in that boat as well.

—Small black bungie cord or rope to tie at the bottoms of the pants - I bought black ribbon from Michael’s Fabric Store (3 yards) which works perfectly and will probably weigh you down a little less and be more comfortable than rope.

—Black tank top with white piping - I bought a plain black tank and am going to sew the white piping on the sides since I couldn’t find one with it already on there. If you don’t know how to sew or are a sewing novice you’ll be just fine, go slow and check your work!

—Black armwarmer - I’m actually using a black legwarmer that I had from Ballet, it’s a little longer so I folded it in half on the inside and sewing the ends together so it doesn’t come out while I’m wearing it. You can cut up a black knee high if you don’t have any legwarmers.

—Red & Black glove - This part was annoying for me to find. Her gloves are mostly red with black accents along the velcro fastener. If you have time before an event you might be able to find a good pair online but beware — they are probably going to be around 20-30 if you want the bright red. For some reason you can only find cheap ones in a dull, less pretty, black. If you look in stores check the biking area of a sports authority or target, etc. I got lucky and borrowed one from one of my friends, it’s not all red but it has a tiny bit of accent and it’ll work until I get a better pair for ACEN next year.

The next part you don’t have to do, it’s a bit difficult to find a yellow messenger bag that looks like hers, so on my short notice decision of her cosplay I decided to forgo trying to find one. I heard that if you had preordered the game you got the bag she wears in the game, although I’m not sure how accurate that is, and it’d probably be expensive if someone was selling theirs.

MAKEUP!! The next part I will be adding in video form very soon!
